Beyond the Silence: Understanding Postpartum Psychosis in Black Communities
Postpartum psychosis is not limited by race, color, creed, income, or social status, and the Black community is not exempt from experiencing this serious maternal mental health condition. This conversation will center the realities of Black mothers and families while emphasizing that postpartum psychosis is a medical emergency that can be treated with timely, informed, and compassionate care.
Attendees will hear from maternal mental health professionals, advocates, and individuals with lived experience as we explore recognition, treatment, recovery, family support, and the changes needed within our health care systems.
